the words of hamlet bring our minds into contact with the eternal wisdom, plato's world of ideas. all the rest is the speculation of schoolboys for schoolboys.
Well, Hamlet's got his own world of ideas. "I could be bounded in a nutshell but that I have bad dreams" and all of "To be or not to be" and even "the rest is silence" suggest a version of Plato's cave outside of which there's only a deeper, darker one.
