The rejected eternal wisdom, too, of fathers, and the too late eternal wisdom of sons.

Well, Hamlet's got his own world of ideas. "I could be bounded in a nutshell but that I have bad dreams" and all of "To be or not to be" and even "the rest is silence" suggest a version of Plato's cave outside of which there's only a deeper, darker one.
