like kobe said in his postgame presser, i'm still in shock about it. unbelievable. i never would have expected it. what a sublime twenty-four hours this has been. ! ! !
mostly legit. the only thing that would have made it more legit was if utah still needed a win to get into the playoffs -- if the game was simultaneous with houston's they would have (at least until houston was up by 20 against the kings' d-league team). but even still, utah was playing real defense and kobe was taking tons of difficult shots. the team ran the offense entirely through him, even pulling back on fast breaks often to get him the ball instead of trying for an easy layup -- so on another night it probably only would have been a 50ish game. but he did singlehandedly beat a jazz team that was trying pretty hard to win and the shots that he made in the last five minutes of the fourth quarter for the comeback and win were as genuine as it gets.
