So, about a week ago I read Wintersmith, by Terry Pratchett. The book was awesome, and funny as hell, of course (and if any one of you guys has never read mr Pratchett's *amazing* Discworld books get to it RIGHT NOW), but there was just this thing I can't help but comment on.

Also, of that time I was reading one of the Percy Jackson books, and they said something in ancient Greek, which looked right and was mostly right, meaning-wise, but it was just. I don't know. Wrong. And the author apparently speaks ancient Greek too! IDEK.

Where in Percy Jackson? Haven't read The Last Olympian yet, but I seem to remember something like that in the previous books... (but shame on her if she claims to speak the language!)
What actually annoys me in such cases is that, it's not like they're writing fanfiction, in which case I really won't care if the author uses google translate since it's meant to be written purely for enjoyment purposes; but for writers - and movies and series for that matter - where you're going to earn money out of it, you could at least check with a person who actually speaks the language you're using. I mean, come on.
