First of all, I just have to say THANK THE LORD SARAH PALIN IS NOT VP.  I DON'T EVEN CARE ABOUT MCCAIN, I'M JUST GLAD IT'S GOING TO BE AT LEAST FOUR YEARS UNTIL WE HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT HER BEING IN CHARGE.

Also, why do people hate Barack Obama so much?  He seems like a nice guy... I certainly don't think he's going to destroy the world.... I don't ( Read more... )

I voted no on prop 4. it's too dangerous and I'm glad it didn't pass. too many parents would beat and/or disown their daughter for having an abortion, and many would be too afraid to tell their parents at all and would just give themselves abortions. very few girls have abortions willy-nilly because they are expensive and can be very stressful and scary. I think most girls who are having sex are able to decide for themselves whether or not an abortion is right for them and don't need the added pressure of a parent's beliefs looming over them. prop 4 would have just been another step toward outlawing abortion altogether.

just my 2 cents though.

I see your point. I think I heard something about a clause that prevented (or whatever) parents from harming their kid, and gave the kid the option of telling an alternate adult... I don't know, 'cause I don't live in California. And yeah, I guess "willy-nilly" was a silly (heheheh) choice of words, because they are expensive and scary - what I really meant was allowing fourteen year olds (anyone, really, but especially the young ones) to get abortions as a method of birth control because they probably don't grasp how painful and dangerous it could be. I know a lot of them would be struggling with the ethical point of view, but a lot of kids would probably just be like "ah, I got pregnant, I can get an abortion" and if they have the money, they can just do it. I feel like that would be a bad thing ( ... )

While, for reasons stated in a comment above, I suppose I'm happy that prop. 4 didn't pass, I'd be far, far happier if the fundies and Mormons had poured all of their energy and money into it instead of prop 8. That they didn't just goes to show how sincere they are when they go off on those long, impassioned rants about how abortion is MURDERING INNOCENT BABIES! I'd think that would be more important to them than the prospect of what are in their mind perverts getting married, don't you?

If you like Cunt then you should read anything by Eve Ensler. The Vagina Monologues sounds similar to Cunt. It's so moving & dramatic. It's amazing. & I started reading another book of hers called Insecure At Last & I just about cried during every chapter. I suggest her for you next book of choice.

Do you have plans for the Twilight movie premiere? I am planning on getting a big group together & going & watching it at midnight if they have a midnight release of it. Maybe you could come too? It'll be a bunch of people from work, Britt[gf], my sister & some of her friends, & then maybe you.

Cool, thanks. :D I have been meaning to read TVM, but I don't own it and don't know anyone who does, and I've been too lazy to go to the library. XD

I want to see Twilight, but I don't have any plans yet... I'm pretty sure they'll have a midnight release. ^_^ I think I would like that, even though I won't really know anyone, but it will still be fun. Where are you going, the mall or Broadway?
