Writer's Block: People’s Choice - Can't I have a 4-Way Tie? No? Well, then...

...Hands down, it's gotta be Robert Downey Jr. :D

Despite what a lot of the so-called professional film critics might say, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows was a brilliant movie and a terriific, better-than-the-first sequel! :D And Robert was utterly adorable on the interview circuit as well. In short, I just think he's a really fun and funny and ( Read more... )

PS HINT: David was also in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. *wink* ;)Not sure whether that's a recommendation... *g* A lot of people do know him only from this role and you get weird looks when you tell them you are a DT fan ( ... )

Yes, that was a turning moment for many who fell in love with him in this first episode - I really cannot understand why it took me so long! He was TOO hyper for me in the beginning. Once you have reached the right episode I will tell you what made ME fall in love with him.

Here is the link to the clip again if you don't find it:

Oh, I LOVE his voice! This deep rumble, right at the beginning. I have listened to lots of audio plays and audio books on my MP3 player. I can tell you more about that, if you like.

(And Sharma, please tell us when we shall leave your LJ and start our conversation somewhere else)

I am at Facebook but I have a rule to only add people I know in real live there - as it has my real name and everything. I have made a few exceptions for fandom people though. Whenever I post something to LJ - my action figure pictures, convention reports, picture with stars etc. - I just put a link into my FB. If you would like to follow that, I could add you, but it becomes more and more difficult for me to follow and reply to each individual entry at FB, as I just know so many people... And frankly, sometimes people post stuff where I wonder if the world needed to know that. I think LJ is better for having real discussions while FB is very shallow.

And you can call me Astra, that's the name everyone knows me by, I only had to put the "die" (which means "the" in German) as the other name already was used.

Okay, LJ friends then. I just added you, please do the same! At least this way we can move the conversation over to my LJ, where you hopefully will reply a lot ;)

As long as you daily read and comment, there is nothing wrong with not writing yourself.

I also just sent you a PM with a few links.

I think it's called "guyliner" in that case ;)

Unfortunately, there is not much of David in this movie, but what is there is really worth it. There is talking about a sequel with him as a main character, but I am not sure if it is going to happen, since it tanked so badly in the US. I found a very lovely Fright Night fanfiction which you could read afterwards, though. I really liked it.

Yeah, I did like the rest of the movie as well. It is a comedy, after all, and we laughed a lot. I don't like horror movies in general, but this was not too gory for my taste. It also was the first 3D I ever saw, so that added to the effect.

Usually I listen to friends, when they like something I give it a try as well. Often we have the same taste, but sometimes I also can't get into it. For me, it needs to click quickly with the characteres. In the pilot preferably. So that I want to know what happens next week. That was the case with "Lost", with "Six Feet under", with "Queer as Folk" (American version), "Eureka", "Desperate Housewives" and most recently with "White Collar".

Once I had watched a full episode of "Stargate" it clicked with me as well, but I can't count that as watching right from the beginning.

The stories can be bad then but as long as I like the characteres I watch everything. On the other hand, if the stories are good but I don't like the people, nothing clicks.
