See, I interpreted that one as more of a complaint about someone trying to be something they're not because they believe they should be than them wanting to be a different gender; sort of like someone only acting like a queen because they feel it's expected as a gay man. (Personally, I tend to get on better with bears than twinks, but hey, I'm a tom boy.) Which I'd agree with: who'd want to step out of one stereotype and right into another?

Though I'm probably completely misinterpreting what they said. Wouldn't be the first time.

I have posted one secret on f!s, aaaaaages ago. Nothing terribly scandalous.

who'd want to step out of one stereotype and right into another? i agree with that too, but i didn't get that from the secret. i got a complete lack of respect for the friend in question and for his/her choice in how s/he identifies and no attempt to understand the issue or how the friend is feeling and no empathy at all. just a 'bring my old friend back and stop questioning your identity, i know who you really are, better than you know yourself'... that's how i read it, anyway. *le sigh*

In the Philippines, 'tomboy' means lesbian. So do 'boytom' (which some sort of clever ultra-secret gay slang, apparently), and 'T-bird', which is just awesome!

obviously i had to go look on that comm but it took me a while. first i typed in 'fomdomsecrets' then 'fondomsecrets'
then lastly 'fandomsectres'...but FINALLY i got my fingers and brain working together.
