I remember wondering if I ought to add more explanation, but it must have slipped my mind before posting. Anyway, that is how I always think of him.

Given that Flambeau operates in a setting with genuine Art Deco robots, I don't think a spaceship is too far out of the question.

(The author David Langford seems to have thought along similar lines; in 'The Spear of the Sun' he has Father Brown and Flambeau solving a crime on a space liner).

(Looking back at the prompt, I'm now wondering whether she, Frobisher and Mimi are working on the same case, but for different clients, and constantly trying to get sneak peeks at what the other ones know or suspect...)
