I saw that and it pissed me off, too. What I don't get is what Frank, et al. think they're getting in trade for kicking transgendered folks to the curb in this legislative game of three-card monte. I read that this is supposedly a bone they're throwing to the (ahem) right wing, but what could possibly be accomplished by making such a meaningless "concession"? I mean, if the people they're trying to appease hate all queer people, they're going to vote against the legislation anyway.
Just once I'd like to see someone do the right thing for the sake of doing the right thing and just let it all hang out. Because what they're doing now isn't politicking, unless you count a synonym for politicking to be making deals to appease the hate in human nature.
Especially since these are real human lives that are really going to be harmed-- real people, not political playthings to be cynically manipulated. This whole underhanded backroom deal seriously stinks.

Have you ever gone to anything at the Gandhi institute at St James University? I always thought some of the events looked neat there. And I don't think it's terribly far from you, maybe a few hours..?
