Heavy doses of garlic and asafoetida usually work well for me in driving out the flu-like sort of thing. I make somehting similar to this recipe... I'm eager to try the chickpea one you also posted recently... We do eat meat, but not much--other protein sources figure more prominently (at least in theory... since I started working a regular schedule, I'm much less likely to cook or eat properly... I used to cook every day)... always looking for good (and new) chick pea recipes...

Sorry to hear you're feeling a bit icky- there seems to be a lot of it about! I guess this is a veggie substitute for that old Jewish standby- chicken soup :o)

1.5 teaspoons cayenne? Surely that's a typo for tablespoons? ;)
