The guy in the green "jumper" (I'd say sweatshirt) is Curtis Armstrong, a character actor best known as either Booger from the "Revenge of the Nerds" movies or Herbert Viola in "Moonlighting" or Ahmet Ertugun in the movie "Ray," or .. (lots of stuff, really.)

He's also from the Detroit area, and a couple of years back played at the music club where I volunteer in support of an old high school friend. So I guess this makes me one degree separated from HL now.

Ahmet Ertugun in the movie "Ray," YES! That's where I know him from, but as you say he's one of those character actors who pops up everywhere.

A little fact: Frank Zappa named his son Ahmet after Ahmet Ertegun. It's the most "conventional" name out of all his kids.

For some reason Superhero guy sort of reminded me of Kutner. Not sure if the writers intended that.... but just saying...

I wonder if Kutner's going to be mentioned again. Very interesting that this ep hardly mentioned any of the main characters by name. All isolated and whatnot.

Someone should write a bad-fic where House breaks down and cries Bitter Tears of Dejection because he was forced to go in that damn talent show. Lord have mercy. Be careful what you ask for -- someone will surely do it and it will be very, very bad.

Superhero Guy reminded me how often House injures/damages/makes a patient worse on the way to a diagnosis. But this time there was no triumph for him. The sight of House sitting there holding the guy's blood-splattered clothes was devastating, as was the guy saying "Thank you, Greg" before he jumped. The number of people who ever thank House or who call him by his given name could about be counted on one hand.

I liked Lydia very much. It was a case of two lonely souls reaching out to each other. It wasn't meant to be more than a moment in time, although House's rush to her house made me realize why Stacy probably moved in with him after knowing him five days. He falls in love the same way he does everything else: headfirst and at the speed of sound.

The flimsy, badly characterised cogs of badfic are ever-turning.

I can't wait to watch the next ep. I like where this ep went emotionally -- it was never a "no turning back" thing, just a few proddings that left House in a different yet not-so-different place. It was refreshing to see the screwed-up way House relates to people working differently.
