Whirlwind Weekend

Wow, what a weekend. Wednesday afternoon,  we headed down to VA to stay with SIL,  merley_edithur , and DH's brother.  We got the grand tour of their new house (awesome!), although we couldn't appreciate the land (3 acres, about half wooded) until the next morning.

Thanksgiving morning was pretty lazy. DH took DSIL for a spin in the Smart to get the newspaper ( ( Read more... )

Hey, you were in my neck of the woods (sort of!)

The shooting sounds like fun! With and luck my son and I will be going to the range this weekend with the boy scouts... Dear Son's third try to get his shooting merit badge. This time he's going to try actually wearing his prescription glasses... Might make it a bit easier to hit the target.

Usually does. Oddly enough, while I was a member of that religious paramilitary survivalist organization (and still proud of it, incidentally), my firearms education took place at a summer camp associated with my middle/high school. The only shooting I did with the BSA was one skeet incident when I was tall as the gun was, and was consequently firing from the hip. This gathers no skeet.

Hehe. Yeah, I wore my glasses, he ought to wear his (I'm pretty badly nearsighted)! :)

Glad to hear that you had a good time with AC at the NRA range.

And I sympathize about living in NJ. I lived there for the first 23 years of my 24 year life. I keep telling my friends I can't move back, because some of the stuff that I have acquired is not legal in NJ.

If you have questions, feel free to shoot me an email, I'll be happy to try and help you understand them all. And if you ever make it to Southern Indiana, and want to try some other stuff, let me know :)

As far as the grins that come from shooting at many rounds as quickly as possible, few things compare to a Ruger 10/22 (.22LR rifle) with an extended magazine. No muzzle rise, and almost no recoil. It's a beautiful thing!

Glad you enjoyed you weekend again.

It looks like it's going to get worse this coming week, too. They're trying to add a one handgun a month policy. Oi. Because it's just so easy to get one now as it is!
