Jo's Survival Tip of the Day: Emergency Glasses:

So you lost your glasses.... GG man, GG.

You will need:
A small, flat object such as a piece of paper, a leaf, tin foil etc.
Means to make a small hole such as the tip of your knife, a pin/needle, claw/fang etc.

Step One: Make a small hole, say about 1/8" in diameter across in your paper or other item.

Push both thumbs and both index fingers together and look through the diamond you make. daywalker6669 June 27 2008, 10:47:55 UTC
I can tell anyone reading that this works fairly well. I am legally blind in one eye and use this same trick to locate my glasses whenever I get out of the shower and have forgotten where I put them before getting under the water.

hey, you're pretty knowledgeable when it comes to cars, right? would it be very hard to fix a power steering leak?

Depends on where the leak is and what vehicle. Could be the pump, could be the lines, could be just bad o-rings. Any other info on the issue?

it's a 1991 Ford Explorer and it's a pretty serious leak. i put fluid in this morning an i noticed it resisting just a couple hours later. i've only had the car a short while so i'm not very familiar with it.

Ford Explorers are junk, always have been... I'm sorry.

Well, first off, when you add a large amount of fluid to the reservoir you have to bleed the lines off - that could be part of your issue with it being tough after filling it - it's not like oil, it's a hydraulic system so you have to remove all of the air pockets. Jack up the front end and then do a cold bleed - you do that by turning your wheels all the way to the left and then all the way back to the right about 30-40 times. Keep topping off the fluid as it sucks down, you're done when there is no longer a bunch of frothy bubbles in the fluid.

However that's not going to help if you have a serious leak. Any idea where the fluid is leaking from, or at least where it's dripping from?
