What to do?

That makes a great deal of sense.

If I may nitpick a bit - if one knows with certainty that a neurotoxin was injected and one has a snakebite kit on hand, would it be worth using or is it still better to avoid any suction?

Yea, I forgot to mention that. Commercial snakebite kits are useful to a degree but again, only if used within the first 2-3 minutes after envenomation and dependent on the type of venom and the wound site. They're pretty much your only option for chest or face wounds.
