I have it.....but I've been side tracked from everything else by a smallish book of 900 pages that I've been waiting 17 years to read called Wheel of Time. lol. All other reading will resume in approximately 200 pages.... ;)

whew 900 page book - done! Conclusion = epically satifying. Now back to early 1800's France to finish reading about a certain blonde, then onto Moebius :)

About 22% complete (time is my issue, I read a chapter and pass out with my Kindle on my face). Good thing I watched the Moebius episodes first to get everything straight in my head first! Daniel/Danyel works pretty good, though.

That's the thing that was the biggest challenge to us. On the screen you'd look at the actors with different haircuts and say, "Oh, Daniel with really short hair is the AU one and Daniel with longer hair like in Continuum is the regular one, and Sam with the pony tail is our universe and Sam with the pixie cut is the AU one, and Teal'c who shaves his head is the AU one and Teal'c with hair is our Teal'c." And after a couple of minutes you wouldn't have any trouble telling them apart. But we tried that and it was completely ponderous, describing "short haired Sam" every time she spoke! It was just too awkward and clunky.

So we settled on "Sam" is AU Sam and "Carter" is our Sam, and then tried to work it out with the Daniels and the Teal'cs.

Nice work! raduancairinel January 13 2013, 13:05:25 UTC
Although I am mostly a SGA fan, due to Todd/Guide and McKay mostly, I really liked the book. The Tok'ra backstory was a nice bonus, although I would have liked even more Tok'ra action in the book, but I understand that the main characters are the ones that have to receive most focus ( ... )

I'm very glad you enjoyed it! Moebius Squared was a lot of fun to do. It was written between Secrets and The Inheritors, so it does kind of come off as backstory for the Legacy series. Daniel's right that the answers were never on Earth -- they're out there, where Sam is going, in the Pegasus Galaxy. And in a year she'll have more of them. What happened to the Ancients? Well, we know more than they do now, don't we? But Sam is right when she tells Ai that it's not all lost and gone. Her many times great-granddaughter will return to Atlantis, one of the inheritors.

I'm so glad you like the Order of the Air too! Steel Blues will be out April 1, and I think it's even better than Lost Things. Right now I'm working on the third book.

It makes me very happy that you remember and like that little piece of Lifeboat. We're working on rewrites now and they're kicking our butts. It's really good to hear that we should hang in there and work on it. Thank you. Truly.

Things I liked: The story flowed naturally and logically. Really great. :) I wanted to rewatch "Moebius" before reading but I couldn't find my dvds so I just started on the book. I felt like I understood the story well enough to get through. (I imagine it would've made even more sense if I'd rewatched "Moebius" though. haha.) The Tokra backstory was cool! So many twists and turns. And I liked that you separated the teams and created interesting pairings like AU Jack and Vala, Danyel and Carter, AU Sam and Teal'c. And Carolyn! You wrote her very believably. I liked her and Cam flying the ship together.

Things I would've liked: More Vala, more Cam, more Daniel/Vala, less Sam/Jack. I know I'm in the minority, but I prefer Season 9 and 10 of SG-1. And I prefer the Daniel/Vala friendship, relationship, dynamic (whatever you want to call it) to the Sam/Jack equivalent. I realize this book is focused on Sam's upcoming decision about the Hammond, and I really did like that angle. So I'm ok with it not having a lot of Vala backstory, I guess ( ... )

I'm glad you enjoyed the book! I'm glad that it made sense even if you hadn't rewatched recently. It was fun to break things up and put people in some new combinations. I always wanted to see Vala and Jack interact more, and this was a good opportunity. And Carolyn is kind of underused, so it was nice to give her a chance to do the cool stuff.

Yeah, I wish there had been more room for Vala too. I love Vala but since this was really Sam's book she kind of had a supporting role. If there are more books in the future I'm really tempted by the idea of pitching a Vala-centric book, maybe based on things that happened when she was a host or immediately thereafter. But Vala sort of followed me home and wormed her way into Steel Blues, my 1920s adventure book that's coming out in April. I just posted a piece of that with "the Countess", our favorite jewel thief!

I would read that in a heartbeat! Seriously! She really is one of my favorite Stargate characters. Lively, funny, thinking outside the box, flirty, sort of an anti-hero but still lovable. Haha. I could go on and on. Maybe I should check out Steel Blues. Sounds like it could be fun. :)

Good luck with future Stargate projects. I'm looking forward to anything more you have to offer. :)

I really like Vala, and I think it would be interesting to do a Vala centric book set right after Moebius Squared. But that's all up in the air right now.

I think you'd like Stasi in Steel Blues. I posted a scene from it with Stasi the other day.
