I'd just like to mention that I really hate nail clippers. (As opposed to scissors.) They're imprecise, leave rough corners, and are incredibly awkward to use. (Yes, I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who feel the same way about scissors ( Read more... )

Have you seen motive_nuance's nail clippers collection? It always impresses me.

Pathetically, I prefer clippers because they minimize the chance that I will stab myself during a grooming attempt.

They alllll hide from me. Anything that can be used to cut nails, it gets lost at the first opportunity.

I do remember a time in college when the scissors I was using for sewing were so bad that I ended up using nail clippers to cut the cloth instead. It was really, really ugly.

Scissors don't work nearly as well as nail clippers on my nails, one thing that may account for your issues though is that I bet you nail clippers are dull, toss them and get a brand new sharp pair.

I agree with you. I've purchased nail clippers that actually come out of the store dull! The best clippers I've bought (as in, they're sharp when I buy them, and they stay sharp for a long time) are the Walgreen's brand. Always sharp, always give a nice clean clip with no rough edges. Ironically, they disappear for me just as much as her clippers disappear for her. I must have three sets around the house somewhere, but I usually only know where one is (and sometimes not even that).

I had an excellent pair of nail scissors. Unfortunately, they inadvertantly got packed in a carry-on bag, and were confiscated with extreme prejudice (like, they were SO accusatory, like I had ACTUAL SCISSORS with a blade of 1/4 inch! MY GODS!

Anyway, they are now the property of the TSA.
