Peter was silent on the drive back into town, his jaw clenching and unclenching as he looked at the road. Something had occurred to him-or startled him-as he’d kissed her, and she wondered what it was. He glanced over at her several times, smiling, before returning his attention back to the road, and she felt a slow excitement build as they neared

Peter--finally--is getting to just be Peter. And it's a fun, wonderful thing to finally get to write.
Have a lovely weekend!

Hurrah! You turned this into English instead of the babble I sent back to you! Well done, you!
"Wanted to spoil him, not just to make up for no one bothering to do it when he had been a little boy-but because a man like Peter deserved to be spoiled, as often as possible."
Oh, and this is so much better than what I'd proposed. Miles better. I LOVE IT.
(Look! Before work!)

Pish posh--you sent me fabulous stuff in English. I just got a little crazy last night, post-hockey and near midnight, as I waited for the sausage balls for today's holiday party to finish baking.
I might be sleep deprived a bit rambly today.... ;)

The alarm clock worked today. There is no rhyme or reason to it. There is no rhyme or reason to anything in my life, really.

They're going into this with with their eyes open and knowing to the best of their ability that they want this as much as the other does.
This definitely was the icing on my last day of term! Thanks!
PS. do you think the bathrobe could sneak into a ficlet?

Exactly--this is more than a tumble, more than just physical, for both of them. Granted, Peter realizes *exactly* what it is, for him, now; Rose, well--she's still working it out.
do you think the bathrobe could sneak into a ficlet?
*envisions the bathrobe sneaking out of the wardobe and wreaking havoc somewhere in the house*
I don't see why not ;)
Congratulations on surviving term!

*Pictures bathrobe with its own slippers, tiptoeing around*
It's early and this is where my brain goes.

My brain goes straight to Real Genius, and bunny slippers. So I think we're about in the same place, mentally ;)

So much fun to wake up to this story! I love that they are getting more relaxed around each other, and how fun a happy Peter is! :D

The better they get to know each other--and not just in the bedroom--the looser they'll get. The later ficlets I've written are sheer fun, from that standpoint.
how fun a happy Peter is!
Absolutely!

Cuteness aside, I love the way you describe the various ways they love each other. The robe, the grins, the jim jam flirting, the teasing, the worrying, etc. It makes the scrabble transcend scrabble.

Thank you! This aspect was something that was very important for me. They love each other, they *want* each other--but a relationship based solely off of sex isn't going to last, long-term. There has to be much, much more for it to work (good lord, when did I turn into my mother?!) .

Oh, very well-said, indeed. And much less patronizing than what I was saying ;)
Please give all of these characters a happy ending.
Including the DCI? ;) I have no crushing desire to kill any of the characters I like, and in fact have great plans for all of them (if not outright happy endings). Penny, for instance, won't go away simply because this has pretty much become the Peter&Rose show--I've become too attached to him. :)
