Okay, not original to me--it's the AV Club's AVQA today--but music, memories, and hey, that census meme is already making me feel old so why not continue the trend? So here's the meme for your copying pleasure:

What's the first song you truly remember loving? (Don't worry if it's a little embarrassing; you were just a kid!) Then tag as many ( Read more... )

How fun! Thanks for nudging me. I'll definitely get on this.

BTW, if you said and I missed it I apologize, but have you decided whether you're watching Idol or not?

I am, I'm just not posting about it, as I don't have a lot to say! Also last season wasn't that fun so I'm kinda done with that whole rigamarole. Going out with Cowell.

I forgot to say that I *loved* Pennsylvania 6-5000 and The Entertainer. The Entertainer in particular I remember from my childhood. I'll have to include that in my answer, even though you've used it already. It's what prompted me to take piano lessons. I never did learn how to play it, LOL!

Ha!

I did play the sax long enough to play the theme from My Three Sons, actually.

Oh, the Entertainer. Such a great song that to this day takes me back to that time. I think I've told you The Sting is one of the first movies I remember seeing, even if I don't remember the actual movie.

I did the meme. Just realized I forgot to tag anybody!

The first movies I remember seeing are Disney movies. But they all blur together.

Johnny Be Good when I was three. I had a 45 of it I used to play on a kid's record player. I loved it. My dad loved 1950s music and he probably encouraged me to play that song and maybe the record was even his? No idea.

Red, Red, Wine (UB40 version). It came out in August 1983 so I was a little over a year old then and thus I did not fall in love with it upon release. I think I was probably around 7 or 8. I guess it was still played on the radio semi-frequently. :-P

That song got played at too many parties because people liked it and I got good and sick of it, I admit! But it certainly was incredibly popular.
