I can't even imagine Simon having to deal with Paula's death. (Yes, I did have a flashback to the death of Henry Black on MASH on that scene!) But I still laughed at his complaint that he had to listen to everything she says. The past few weeks I've been watching him listening to carefully to her when she talks and then just saying "I have no idea what that meant" and he's always totally right. Poor Paula and her Mr. Fuller. Somehow it seems inevitable that people that bright and full of life would get carelessly knocked over. ::sigh::
I loved the way all the stress started subtly coming out in people, changing their outlook while they still live their lives the same way. Simon asking Ryan if this is like Spain, Ryan asking Simon if this is like the Great War, Simon seeing ghosts at train stations, Amanda feeling angrier at her charade, Guiliana getting married--and Chris and Kim continuing to be rock solid and steady, possibly to their disadvantage. Gah!
7-Everyone really picked up on that scene with Simon and Ryan. I do think Simon is sweet, except you can't actually write him that way directly of course. Small David pretty much talks like Andy Hardy-I had to make him have grown up mostly in the states, or I never would have been able to write him. And anyway, IRL in 2009 he talks like Andy Hardy anyway! Oh D Hernandez, so heroic, so olive-skinned.
8-You know me well enough to know that you will absolutely find out, and so will Ryan, eventually. I think it was doing all those dance scenes in EWFS, and Ely's advice, that helped me to figure out how to write dance scenes, but I'm glad I had the videos to show people what those dances actually looked like! But thanks!
9-Ryan and Simon snogging in the shelter was one of the first scenes that came to me when I was sketching out the fic, so I'm glad that it still worked. And I'm glad (?) that Paula's death affected people so much. Kim and Robinson-oh themThank you so much! I am so glad you're enjoying the fic, and your comments

Wow, this chapter was incredibly emotionally draining to read. I had to blink back tears to continue reading after the bombing of Paula and Simon, the way you described the sadness of those around then was exquisite, and all the more poignant for it´s simplicity, really.
You still made me giggle when Simon was describing Paula, very fitting.
The bombings must have been truly terrible to live through, I loved that Ryan and Simon kissed in the bomb shelter, and how close they´re becoming.
I very rarely want to make people sad-I'm just don't write in that style-but I'm glad (?) that Paula's death affected people, and that the reactions to it felt right.
I'm a big Saula, not shipper exactly, but I'm big on their having a real love connection however much they really don't understand each other at all. I adore their dynamic.

Thank you so much for your comment-it means a lot!

I'm glad that people are sad about Paula; I'm glad she made enough of an impact, in her unique way.
It's always exciting when you're trying to do a small thing and people are picking it up! So yay! And thanks again for commenting, it means so much!
