PROMINENT STATE LOBBYIST INDICTED
INVESTIGATION IS "ONGOING", SAY POLICE
TOP-FLIGHT lobbyist Terry O'Banion was indicted today in connection with over a dozen gangland murders that police say were carried out over the last six months in both Gotham City and Blüdhaven. The prosecutor's office alleges that O'Banion's cousin, Mr. Hugh Fitzpatrick, provided O'Banion with DNA samples from dead bodies - kept illegally at his crematorium in Blüdhaven - to plant on murder victims in an attempt to deliberately mislead detectives. Police are also investigating O'Banion's financial records, citing "unusual" patterns in his P.R. firm's accounts, but will not confirm or deny rumors that the suspect was accepting money from not only special interest groups, but local mafia and crime bosses in exchange for influencing city and county politicians' votes.
