Jessie Quick with the timely intercession of Captain Atom has Sabbac on the ropes. With the demonic gangster's relative inexperience betraying him in the heat of combat, Quick and Atom's combination of expertise and ability have handily negated Gregor's edge in raw power. Sabbac only now beginning to stir again, comes to his feet. The girl, the Bromfeild girl is what matters. He casts his vision about, trying to find her in the mists.

Meanwhile the great raptor of emerald and shadow drops into a steep decent to where Corine speaks words of healing power over Hourman's body.

The mist has spared most from Johnny Sorrow's visage so far, as Jesse Quick plays a deadly game of chicken in the fog as she tries to position herself for an opportunity to close in without looking at his face. Sorrow uses this dance to close in on the others little by little. The obscuring weather can only help for so long.

"Come on," Jesse grumbles between gritted teeth, "you know you want to play with me."

She's looked around enough to know that Captain Atom isn't anywhere in sight in the aftermath of that powerful wave that flared over the land, and she has figured its source. She wants to end this now.

Sand nods. Immediately the ground around him at about a 15 foot radius arcs up over the heroes, encasing them in a solid dome of rock and sand, cutting them off from the view of the enemy. The only member of the party not included in the dome was Jesse Quick.

When Superman voices a need for her to do something, Jesse Quick does not question it. She obeys the leadership of the Justice League just that readily. The moment that Kal-El indicates that she is needed in Fawcett City and why, Jesse is off in a streak of red, gold and white, her ponytail flying behind her like a pennant.

"Just take care of Hourman, sir, please," she asks as she streaks toward former Commissioner Gordon's location. Sorrow and the others are miles behind her in mere seconds.

Running gives Jesee a glimpse of the something else that was happening while they were in their fight. A demolished house surrounded by firefighters, some sort of explosion that ripped up from beneath the ground.

Jim Gordon is at a nearby police station, sipping lukewarm coffee as medics treat him for minor bruises. He's relatively unharmed.

"Sir?" Jesse says as she skids to a stop near the retired commissioner. "I'm Jesse Quick. Superman sent me to bring you somewhere safe."

She activates her comm as she looks at the devastation. "Ready to proceed with secondary protocol, codeword 'Alamo.'

Gordon starts to question, but there really isn't time. So instead, he goes with it. After years in Gotham, it's really hard to confound him.

Even shielded somewhat from the effect of Sorrow's face, Travis is clearly in bad shape. Not quite heart-attack ala Doc Mid-Nite the last time around, but definitely in shock and unconscious.
