Cassandra had gone to see Steph, like she does most nights. This time, she'd even remembered to go to her home, instead of the cemetary first. She'd finally adjusted to her best friend being alive again

If this were a wrestling match, Vandemar would be described as 'not selling' the blow that strikes his jaw. Sure, it breaks with a snap, and true, he spits a couple of teeth out, but then he snaps it back into place with his hands.
"That wasn't very friendly."
He reaches out to grapple the quick martial artists, intent on squeezing his eyes into the back of his skull.
Croup on the other hand, does double over. The thinker of the two, he's not as used to having blows connect with him.
"Ooof..." He wheezes out a short breath. "My dear... The last female to give me indigestion was much larger than you... You're a bitesize snack!"
Croup disappears from his location and shifts a couple of paces behind Batgirl, a knife in hand. He makes for a strike at Cassandra's spine, wide grin on his pudgy face.
Dragon is surprisingly nimble for a mortal - just as it seems Vandemar has found a grip, Richard twists to use the demon's weight against him to toss him over.
Vandemar tumbles over Dragon's shoulder, a look of surprise on his face.
Mortals aren't meant to be this agile.
Jumping up from the ground with a speed that belies his weight, Vandemar cracks his neck left and right, and with a sneer he throws a fast right hook, trying to catch Dragon's face with his very sharp and jagged rings.
Croup is much, much faster than anyone Cassandra has faced--for a moment, she thought he vanished entirely.
But he still moves, and he still can't help but broadcast those movements to Cassandra's trained eye. She's on the floor moments before the knife connets and sweeps her leg out to bring the man down.
Dragon is forced to make a very sudden dodge that seems to leave him off-balance, his hands grabbing Vandemar's wrists as he admires those jagged rings from up close.
Vandemar grunts loudly as the metal sinks into his skin. He doesn't bleed, but Dragon's strength is enough to make the hellforged weapon tear off a chunk of skin.
She narrowly avoids Croup's knife, but has no time to counter before the man has vanished.
She follows Dragon without a word, though there is a small voice in her mind wondering that he called her 'Batgirl,' and she still answers to it, and what that means right now.
Richard Dragon has no idea about what has befallen Gotham's dark knight, of course - his evening exercise routine carries on, unabated.

"Huh. Those look pretty nasty. Hell-forged?"

Drawing another knife from seemingly nowhere, he stabs down with it towards Cassandra, intent on pinning her to the ground.

For some reason, though, he's smiling again.
"I'm sure she's a wonderful lady. Remind me to thank her sometime."
Dragon twists to capitalize on the momentum of the blow, to twist Vandemar's arm - directing those hellforged weapons into the demon's own flesh.

"Retreat, Mr. C?"

"Time we were off. We'll be back, and much better prepared." The two 'men' disappear around the corner of the dojo door, and out of sight.

And just like that, Dragon is off, chasing a pair of demon hunters back towards what he assumes is hell.
