"But home is where the heart is," he laughs a little, "you know." He looks around the mobile office. Taking in the surroundings again. "You came alone? Damn man, that took balls." He makes a cupping gesture. Scratching his chin, which is completely hairless, Croc asks "You, ah, had work for me? "Guy that contacted me wasn't specific at all."

Shreck goes from left to right in his swivel chair for ten seconds or so before continuing. "Usually I'm not the type to contact Gotham's more colourful set, but my needs bring me to you, a man that I know is capable of doing a job well. Tell me, Mr. Jones. Can you do a job well?"

Croc leaned back in his chair, he was wondering how much he could get paid for whatever was coming. Guy like this had a lot more bread than his usual employer. "So who needs to disappear?"

"But this guy," his right hand turns into a fist, "is un-fucking-believable. Do you know what it's like when someone's been touching your property, Mr. Jones? Possibly not. Maybe you don't have anything to your name. I can change that. But my point," his other hand is a fist now, and he brings them both down onto the desk in front of him. "My point is that his grubby hands have been all over my property, and he needs to lose a hand or two."
"Not that I'm advocating murder. God forbid." His face stays stoney cold. "But if he tries to take something from me, I'm going to have something taken from him. Feel free to make him lose his hands, or if those orphans he takes in are more readily available, take them. He's going to feel some loss."

"In terms of payment, I was thinking of $500,000 if you can hurt him and leave no connection to me. I'm fully prepared if you do, and if you get caught and implicate me, god help you, but if you don't? You get the full $500K."

Croc leans back again and looks pensive. "You need me to leave right away, or wait for a while?"

"Your advance is $50,000.00. Betray me and you will wish you hadn't." He tosses the envelope into Croc's hands.
