A date in every city....

Jan 14, 2009 14:29

Selina Kyle has been a very busy woman, though not in the ways she'd like to be busy. She's been in many different cities having dinner with many different men. And best of all, she's been allowing the press to take pictures of her doing it. To be honest, she's been smiling so much, she feels like she's pulled a muscle or seven in her face ( Read more... )

"Now are you sure you wouldn't rather be seen dating the Flash? I guess that would make more sense, with the movie-star thing..." Wally says as he leans over the table, admirably resisting the temptation to gaze at her plunging neckline.

"I've noticed that costumes are awkward in public. And I'm not sure I'd want anyone to try to guess how I would know such an esteemed personage." Selina smiles at him, offering him a hand, "Thank you again, by the way. I do appreciate this."

"Oh, you're welcome. Thanks for explaining it to my girlfriend. But I've been known to pull off a costume-plus-tux ensemble that really gets the Flash Bulbs going, if you know what I mean."

A one-eyed squint. "Your identity as Catwoman is fairly public, isn't it? How did we go about this the last time?"

Lo, if only I could remember that plunging neckline from memory.

"We didn't spend that much time in public locales, especially not in front of the press. There weren't any questions." Selina chuckles, "It is nice to go out like this, though, excepting the cameras. At least I don't have to mingle pointlessly."

"Not that I object to needling your fiancee, Selina, but if he tosses me through a window, I may have to send you the bill for replacing my suit."

Eddie speaks under his breath as he smiles around to the public onlookers.

"Still, this is excellent publicity for my firm.."

"Mmmmm. I can't promise you anything, Eddie." Selina smiles as she walks into the restaurant arm in arm with him as flashbulbs go off. "Except perhaps a camera filled evening with, what I hear, is excellent food."

"I'll take what I can get, then. If nothing else, I'm sure the conversation will be pleasant."

He tips his hat at a paparazzo.

"We'll see what the damages are, if there are any." The smiles stays plastered on as the make it through the door. "How is your business going, anyway? Crane doesn't seem like the most dependable business partner."

As if a public date with the Riddler wouldn't rile the Bat off enough, she's got a second. Still in Gotham. With a far less known, though far more notorious individual.

"You know, love, I didn't think about all the cameras when I said yes to this. How do you manage to make it out the door with all this?"

"With a smile plastered on my face and patience."

Selina's leaned in to John so she can talk to him without being overheard by those surrounding them. "Thank you for this. I needed someone I could at least mostly be myself with doing this."

She knows this one will probably make Bruce the angriest but it is the one she needs the most to find soldi ground beneath her feet again.

He'll just have to be on his best behaviour tonight. Which is going to be, well...hard.

And it's certainly not alone in that.

"Anytime, pet. Always here fer you."

At least the press won't know anything about him, unlike the other few dates shes' been on. She'll get that air of mystery she pulls off so well. And what could almost be a real date, too. He even opens the door to Chez Michel for her. It's sweet. And means the maitre'd sees her first.

Better entrance that way. Even decked out to the nines, he's got a little bit of the scruff.

The scruff isn't a bad thing. The scruff adds a little something to the rest of the suit she's made him dress up in this evening. Still, she's got the camera lenses to herself for a few moments as she walks through the doors on her own. Turning, she looks back to reach for him as he walks through behind her. "What did I ever do to deserve you?"

She's entirely serious.

"Thank you Oliver."

Before she sits down, she leans in and kisses his cheek, whispering, "I'm working on the DNA problem, by the way." As she sits, she waits for him to push the chair in, the timing on that always challenging.

"Lobster is a bit rich for me tonight, I think." When she truly smiles her eyes crinkle up on the edges. "You never know what activities might be required of me later."

"I have you now, Last Thrill Squad!" Superman shouts, leaping from building to building in a deadly game of leap frog with this strange society of mad debutantes and poor little rich boys; disgruntled youths intent on 'enlightening' other people through their brutal lampshading and 'extreme sports'.

Last time, Superman had just made it in time to throw the bomb inside the hermetically sealed mini-van into the air, saving a family of four who were unable to complete a rubix cube under pressure from a grisly fate. Now, Superman can see the colorful masks and strange, ultra-formal clothing of the club members-he /has/ them.

The Man of Steel races across the open aid skylight over the Wurston and Wurston benefit gala, keeping his eyes open for whatever terror these mad gangsters aim to inflict upon the innocents of Metropolis tonight! "Halt, evildoers!"

What's one more person in fancy dress to this party?

Selina blinks as the gang of well dressed ... thrill seekers... races by her on the ledge, followed by .... Superman? She had been up here to get some fresh air from the most boring date she's ever been on but this looks a lot more interesting.

"You've got to be kidding me."

Selina tries to turns her head to get a better look at the man with the knife on her. For someone standing on the edge of a skyscraper with a knife pressed against her skin, she certainly doesn't seem concerned. It probably has to do with the fact that she's fairly certain she can break his wrist before he can do more than scratch her.

"You obviously know who I am and that should tell you how ridiculous that question is. Really."
