A date in every city....

Selina Kyle has been a very busy woman, though not in the ways she'd like to be busy. She's been in many different cities having dinner with many different men. And best of all, she's been allowing the press to take pictures of her doing it. To be honest, she's been smiling so much, she feels like she's pulled a muscle or seven in her face

"Not that I object to needling your fiancee, Selina, but if he tosses me through a window, I may have to send you the bill for replacing my suit."

Eddie speaks under his breath as he smiles around to the public onlookers.

"Still, this is excellent publicity for my firm.."

"Mmmmm. I can't promise you anything, Eddie." Selina smiles as she walks into the restaurant arm in arm with him as flashbulbs go off. "Except perhaps a camera filled evening with, what I hear, is excellent food."

"I'll take what I can get, then. If nothing else, I'm sure the conversation will be pleasant."

He tips his hat at a paparazzo.

"We'll see what the damages are, if there are any." The smiles stays plastered on as the make it through the door. "How is your business going, anyway? Crane doesn't seem like the most dependable business partner."

"Well, he's intelligent. And focused most of the time. I don't think it's a long-term career move for him.."

"No, I would imagine not. He's focused but not on what I think you're focused on." Selina nods to the maitre d' and follows as he leads across the room.

"At least if I understand what you're focused on, that is."

"Bettering the Bat at his own game - it couldn't be simpler than that."

He shrugs, still keeping his voice low so that no one can easily overhear the conversation.

"I spoke to Roman, by the way."

The first comment gets a small chuff from her, not really a laugh, not really an expression of disbelief either. At the mention of Roman, her demeanor stiffens a little but she keeps on her way to the table. "I'm sure that went well. How many horrible things did he call me this time?"

"None that I care to repeat in your company, of course. You actually shot him and dropped him off a roof?"

The Riddler, it seems, is mildly impressed with her vengefulness.

"I didn't drop him off a roof. I simply decined to help him up from the ledge." Selina pauses by the table, wanting to get a word in before sitting down.

"He fed my sister parts of her husband. He's very lucky I didn't shoot him somewhere more important."

"Distasteful. Most distasteful."

The Riddler shakes his head - he's never been one for melodramatic displays of unnecessary violence.

"In any case, Roman was not to be dissuaded, but on the other hand, he didn't try to kill me for asking."

"I'm glad he didn't try to hurt you, Eddie." Selina sits down in her chair, "It would have made things even worse."

"I appreciate the sentiment behind that, Selina."

He takes his seat just after she takes hers.

"Still, I had hoped I might be able to make him see reason. Vendettas aren't practical, and I had taken him for a pragmatist at heart.."

"He's not reasonable, Eddie. He's dead set on destroying everything I've ever cared about." She's not happy about that idea. Not at all.

"Mind telling me how it escalated this far?"

Nygma picks up the menu, glancing through the selections.

"I stole some of his money and built a community center with it. He blew it up." Selina looks over toward Eddie, already knowing what she wants, "It started that way."
