It's been quite some time since her capture by Onomatopoeia. Since finding her 'student' in the trap with her, and then finding out her 'student' was the trap ( Read more... )

"You called, Huntress?"

Oracle is not entirely pleased by how things have been between her and this woman recently. It has been tense - more tense than it usually is. Hopefully, she'll get an idea what is happening now, though she has a few guesses.

"I need you to track someone down for me. Onomatopoeia, usually operates out of Star City. Taken into custody by Red Robin, Flamebird, and Jesse Quick not too long ago."

Oracle can hear the hardness in her voice. Whatever Huntress has planned, it won't be pretty.

"I need to ask her a few questions regarding the incident."

That one is easy. And Oracle expected it to some extent.

"Onomatopoeia is currently still on the Watchtower, awaiting transfer to a federal medical holding facility." While most of her injuries has healed by now, there are still some of them that need tending.

And a few more on the way.

"Thanks, O. Any chance you could arrange transport to the Watchtower for me?"

She's on the Watchtower before she knows it, but she doesn't give herself the time to be disoriented. Instead, she begins a march straight through to the holding cells, only one word on her mind.

Bang.

And Onomatopoeia, Rebecca Jarvis, is sitting in her cell, waiting to be transferred to the authorities. She's had all the surgery she needs now, and is able to talk normally. She can even name her former employer. She hasn't been given much in the way of entertainment in the cells, but it seems there are an endless stream of novels on the Watchtower. Right now she's reading Oliver Twist.

She looks up at the sound of someone approaching her cell. "Hmm."

Huntress can't get inside the cell, but she doesn't need to. She could fire her crossbow right between this bitch's eyes before the guards could even try to stop her.

But she doesn't. Not yet.

"Where is she?"

Rebecca puts her book down and steps up to the edge of the cell. Come to think of it, a very antiquated one given the technology on this station. She looks directly at Huntress. Helena Bertinelli. Yes, she still remembers her name from when she had to bag her in the first place. "Brainiac would have her. I have no idea where."

His arms his around her well enough to help support her as they walk. It's always amazing how walking in no distinct direction does help when you feel the world collapse around you and as if your heart was torn out. That or drinking until you can't walk.

There's no simple words he can use in order to place all is well. It's about making sure that those that are still suffering and are victims have some form of healing. So as they continue into a hallway, this is only going to get worse.

"Jason, you didn't see it. She had my classroom down to every detail. She had models of all my students, and...I had to tear them apart. To get out, I had to rip them all to pieces. And then Emma was there, and I promised her I'd get her out and I did, I thought I had her safe..."

It isn't just guilt. It's guilt and impotence and a hollow rage that isn't going away. It's proving him right, it's letting down Emma's family, it's letting Emma down...

"Ya haven't let a damn person down. Ya are gonna still get out there an look for that girl. Ya gonna let her family have some form of peace. I know it hurts. It's fuckin' your insides up somethin' horrible, but ya also know that even if a chance of that girl alive is out there, ya have to cling to it Helena."

This...monster inside that cell. Brainiac created copies of people for her to use. Who's to say there aren't more out there? That she won't come across another Emma, be hopeful again, and then...

She's let everyone else down, it's his turn.

"I'm not strong enough."
