"You think so?"

It feels good to have him happy with her. That is weighed against the pain in her head that having that money is causing. She can't help it. It can't be right. The more she thinks about it, the more her head hurts

She needs some asprin or something.

Tetch looks at her, the pain in her head visible on her face.

He's surprised. That wasn't supposed to happen. He'd planned that tiara to specifically avoid anything noticeable like headaches.

"Ms. Kane? What seems to be the matter?"

"I have all of that money upstairs and it just ... it can't be..." It is like there are thoughts chasing other thoughts around in her head so fast. Her head is turning into a blender.

"That's not what I'm supposed to do."

"Whatever do you mean, my pet? What money?"

Oh, the moneybags that Lewis snuck into Bette's room to take while she was sleeping. The money that he's going to vehemently deny she had. THAT money.

As he finishes, he looks up at her, clearly expecting some remark on the poem, or how he gives it, or something like that at least.

"So now you see, the Walrus and the Carpenter eat together, so it wouldn't be fair to eat your oysters without him."

"Oh. I see. Who... is the Carpenter?"

She needs to save some bacon for him but she still doesn't know who he is, exactly. "It is a nice poem..." Bette doesn't seem certain what it means.

He laughs.

"Never you mind, Ms. Kane. Eat as much as you'd like. The Carpenter can find his own."

And now she's really, really confused.

But there is breakfast being made for her. And that's a good thing.

And apparently she didn't steal the money.

That's a really good thing!

"Thank you."
