A Looking Glass

The morning after Bette's adventures in Opal City, when she comes downstairs for breakfast, she'll find the Mad Hatter sitting there as if he's a natural part of the room. Tea in hand, perverse smile on his face.

His greeting is not traditional. There is no hug, no "so glad to see you," none of that. Instead, he presents to her a newspaper with an article about a bank robbery, an indian and a cowboy, and a blonde costumed woman. "Opal's New Hero," it's headline reads.

The Hatter's eyes meet hers, and he can't help but speak. "You did very well last night, Ms. Kane. I'm so proud of you."
