He wakes up, sort of, to the sounds he always hears. The screams, the promises that 'he don't mean it, he's just drunk' are quickly drowned out by the sounds from below. The sounds of the ghettoes. Traffic, people, shouts

"I just got back on base. Give me a few, Chimp." Sand immediately bolts to ops...they're right. Deserted.
A few buttons, a lock-on, and the trio are sent immediately to the medlab. Sand also sends out a code red to the remainder of the team.
A minute or two later, Sand walks into the medlab. "I'm having the rest of the team meet in he...dear god." He takes one look at Travis and visibly flinches.
He looks a little lost...Tara was the team medic. And she's not here. "The transporter had been used a little while ago...by Tara. It took her to Idaho. I have no idea where everyone else is..."
Travis shakes his head to Corrine's question. "Definitely not alright. And I can't find Tara. I've scanned the coordinates we were given, and tried to check my tag on her... not finding her." Yes, he's kept a tag on Tara.
Caleb's gut reaction is to be disgusted by the idea, but when reason kicks in an instant later, he remembers that circumstances can change a lot, and decides to ask about them later. Right now, Corrine, Tara, and Phillip are his only priorities.
"He's right," Caleb notes, turning towards Corrine. "Phillip would have never gone along with an abduction unless he was ready to move against you."
Sand shakes his head. "No, I just need for you to be able to know if I go unconscious." He looks at the assembled team. "I want you, Tefe' and Ibn to stay on base with Corrine. There's something about all of this that stinks on ice, and I want a failsafe. We may show up and it's guns blazing - which means the trap is there. We show up and nothing - the trap could show up here. With Tara's bio-signature they could reverse engineer a teleport onto the base."
"Yes, but it's the half they won't have failsafes for." Sand said. "Besides - if they do come here, I'm going to need my most powerful here because they're ready to go. We leave now - with a smaller strike force - they may not be ready yet. And if I go down - you know to come running."
"They don't get to," Chimp points out. "He's right. Pincer them in with the side they don't expect. That's what being a team is all about..." He looks over at the others. "Letting someone help you when you can't do it yourself."
"Fine." Sand says before anyone else can protest. Then he looks right at Travis. "Provided you can work with the team and under my command. I don't need someone making a suicide run. No one dies today."
He then looks at the room. "Caleb, Trevor, Chimp, you're going too."
"With pleasure," he answers Sand, a hand finding his gun through his coat to confirm it's presence. He won't waste time changing into his work clothes, though he does have one thing he needs to do before heading to the teleport pad.
He turns towards Corrine. "If he gets the entity, Eugene stays in hell forever. I promise you, that's not going to transpire." He touches her arm, sympathizing with her (strategically unwise) desire to accompany them for a second before turning away, and taking a place next to the Chimp.
"Set the coordinates for Ahipara Bay, New Zealand."
Trevor, ironically, is already in costume, and finds himself shucking his blood-soaked costume shirt before putting his coat back on and approaching Caleb.
"Any chance that ward we talked about is ready ahead of schedule?"

He returns with four holsters strapped to him - two chest, two hip. "How far's your range nowadays, Hank?"

But if Brainwave isn't going to be engaging the telepathic link...
"I have the next best thing for you, though." A smirk. "Come here."
