Historically, Thanksgiving has been a mixed bag of emotions and usually an opportunity for high drama where the Bat family is concerned. There was the year they found out about Bruce's satellite, for instance. The year Selina was first in attendance at the table

Selina makes her way down the stairs, not making any secret of her presence. Her heels clap against the stone and the subtle scent of her perfume slides along the air as she comes closer and closer to her goal.

Selina's expression grows more concerned.

The gaze just a second ago fixed upon her begins to wander. It travels the walls of the cave, to the vault, to the small infirmary, to the car, to the expanse that opens up beyond. All of it have served him well. Impenetrable and secure in the face of his enemies.

All except this enemy.

"Come. Come with me and celebrate."

Ra's almost took him from her. Almost took....

"Sometimes we have to celebrate that we're still alive."

The sincere plea doesn't pass without impact. He is alive. Looker and Technocrat are not. His duty to them remains despite his personal obligations. The computer can be set to work independently though. Given the right direction.

"I'll be up as soon as I can."

There is a small smile at that.

His first instinct is to return her to the festivities already underway upstairs in the Manor.

Instead, he wordlessly pulls up another chair.

Selina settles down into it. Carefully, she puts her hand on his thigh, ready to wait along with him.

"Thank you."

Before all his attention is returned to the keyboard, he deposits his hand on top of hers.

Yes. Today he will celebrate. In his own way. In his own time.
