The voice is gravelly, but there's a tone of amusement. "Hey, Ms. Grayson. Long time no talk."

"Detective Chimp! Hi! Oops, I said that already!" She chuckles. "How are you?"

[onthecase]

"I'm doin' pretty good. About to be released back into the wild," he chuckles. "And yourself? How are things with the Titans?"

It is no surprised that Bono answers his phone like a Rock Star. "Thrill me, baby."

[onthecase]

"I'll see what I can do. Hi there, Mr. Bono. I'm calling you from the Outsiders... the superhero team? I'm working on a case to save the world, and I think you might be able to help me."

Okay, only a slight exaggeration...

[ibn_npcs]

"What? This isn't K-Rock? Who's screening these calls?"

There's a pause. "What did you say the Outsiders? Superhero team? Did the Edge give you this number?"

"I'm calling you about Ibn Head, Mr. Bono. He's the one who gave me this number."

Now, that was an out-and-out lie. Still. Need to get past the celebrity to the real person.

The third number rings endlessly.

Detective Chimp has a great deal of patience.

He puts the phone on speaker, sits back, and pulls out a book to read.

He'll need a great deal of patience. The wait is long.

"Who gave you the phone number?" The question emanates from within the room.

"I've got access to the JLA files," the Chimp shrugs, not bothering to look at where the Batman is. If he wants to be seen, he'll be seen. And no, he's not hanging up the phone. "Ever heard of voice mail?"
