Mmm...Shepherd's Pie and vintage Doctor Who; two great tastes that taste greater together!

Yep, the Shepherd's pie and the vintage Doctor Who go really well together...unless the episode(s) is/are so funny that you are choking and coughing and hence spewing Shepherd's pie all over the place! :) But even then, they still go together well. :)

How old is Ellie that she already has developed such good taste in science fiction?

She's just turned 11 this year. She's been rpging with the Friday night gaming group since she was 6 or so, and her folks have encouraged her literate tendencies as well.

Excellent!

I mean, I heartily approve :)

Recently friends have been having kids and they'll be bringing them up in the unique and wonderful culture of the geeks too.

That's great that Ellie was involved with Tomb Of The Cybermen.

I actually find it neat that she really likes the Classic Who better than the New Who, although she has been entranced this year with Amy Pond.

There was an interesting comment on the BBC site by Steven Moffat on the character of Amy - that while she's as sassy as anything, there is still a childishness (possibly childish glee?) to her.

I can't honestly say that I'm entranced or any such thing by Amy Pond, but will say that her story arc is certainly interesting.
