I am all wavy hands about everything today, despite, or perhaps because of the fact that it's the end of the semester and I stayed up way too late last night writing two papers

What can I say about Battlestar Galactica's Unfinished Business except more wavy hands?
And more.... and more!
But, ok, I used to think of Lee and Kara as siblings, because they love and hate each other and fight for Dad's attention and so much of how they interact with each other is competitive and full of sibling rivalry and I thought that there sexual tension was just a byproduct of their aggressive and intense personalities and their shared history.
I think there will always be a component of that sibling facet to Kara and Lee, if only because it's being reinforced by external things. Papadama still views them both as his children, and even long-gone-Zak will always define them as nearly-siblings-in-laws, so even if they wanted to, there's no escaping that idea completely. In some ways, it almost seems that they would never have developed their romantic (for want of a better phrase) feelings for each other if it hadn't been for that initial set-up.
But then there was boxing. Boxing as a thinly veiled metaphor. A crew fighting

And, all right, if a person might have a crazy idea for a vid despite having never made a vid before, what tips would you have for her? I'm (very much) no expert at vidding, but... a) It's worth taking your time to familiarise yourself with whatever program you use - finding out what's possible and what's easy is really worthwhile and frees up the creativity b) Save. Often. (and it's worth having multiple versions floating about at first) c) Patience and peservence is the key. I found it was initially quite easy to get started, but took patience and a bit of perserverence to get the vids starting to match what I had in my head. d) Simple stuff, like carefully chosen clips and working with what's going on in the song are very effective and beat fancy technical stuff any day of the week. e) If you get stuck, look for help! There are plenty of answers out there, not to mention vidding communities.
Finally, I think that's where most people start - with a crazy idea and no idea how to make it happen!
