And yes Georgiev is exactly what you said he is.

It's an old-school turn of phrase, basically meaning, "I'm worried and stuck in a holding pattern hoping everything works out but sort of waiting for it not to."

And this impression from only speaking to Georgiev once. Apparently I'm a good judge of character? :)
