But remember the exchange in 1X05, when they exchanged Kellog's grandmother (Maddie) for Kagame's mother, who was pregnant with him? I think future Alec was quite a bit older, he moved stiffly, like an elderly person (which he would be, as he'd be in his eighties) while Kagame is still relatively spry and so would it make more sense if he was still in his sixties.
No, Lily was still in the car. Kellog and Kiera pulled a switcheroo in order to get Maddie back without giving up Lily. That's why Kagame was so freaked when Kellog pulled her hood down - he even told the other Liber8 members it was his mother, and she was pregnant with him.
The piece of paper Julian was holding at the end was probably a tattoo design, because he looked across the street at a tattoo parlour just before the fadeout. My guess is it's the Theseus tattoo Kagame had on his arm which we glimpsed earlier when he was watching the news about the hostage situation on the farm.
I assumed at the beginning that Julian was going to be a big player in Liber8's cause, it was pretty obvious. It seems likely that, as Kagame has not yet been born in this time, Julian will eventually be his mentor or something who raises him to think ill of the corporations in the first place. But -- and I love this part -- only because it was Kagame himself who mentored Julian in his teen years first! It's a causality loop! Whee, isn't time travel fun? :P

Aha, it all becomes clear - and causality loops for the win! I'm impatient and yet half dreading the finale. So far, this show hasn't shied away from the darker plot points so I have a funny feeling it's going to be a killer
And I adore Alec, he's a very well realised character. He's a genius and a self confessed nerd, but they didn't go to that awkward characterisation that usually comes up with this sort of role. He isn't played for laughs or light relief, or just there for the quips. He has a life and a family, and real conflict in his life.
