Doctor Who...

I'm having such a wonderful time watching Doctor Who at the moment. I love EVERYTHING about it. I know that a few on my flist are disappointed with the way things panned out in the last episode, but I'm pretty much marvelling at the fact that - even though I've seen the big reveal - I still don't know what the HECK is going to happen next ( Read more... )

The last episode was great fun, and I'm afraid it's got me writing fanfic instead of the work I ought to be doing...

I'm just giggling at the fact that this makes Rory and Amy de facto Parents in Law to the Doctor

and agree, there's more still to come (Astronaut girl etc)

I am COMPLETELY AND IRREVOCABLY in love with this show! Loving every minute, actually. The only reason I found the big reveal to a bit disappointing was that I'd pretty much already settled on it as the most likely scenario, and I just not used to being right! (It's rather disappointing, actually...)

I'm a big fan of the Timey Wimey-ness, too: like you said, what's to complain about? It is a show about TIME TRAVEL! If they just used the TARDIS as a magic cupboard to take field trips through time, that would be boring pretty fast. (And how unrealistic would it be to present a world with travel, and not show any of the possible complications and confusions of it?)

Anyway. I like River Song, too! I've liked her from the start. Sure, I've griped about some the IMMENSELY SILLY lines she has been given to say, but...that's not her fault! Is it, River? *pets her* No, it's not your fault the bad man makes you say 'Hello, Sweetie!' approximately 15,000 times per episode... (The fact that they've finally dialed down the ( ... )

[Laughs] I like when she writes it on unlikely surfaces like it's a code [cliff faces, for instance!] but you're right, verbally it was WAY over used!

if it makes you feel any better, Kingston loves having a catch phrase.

I pretty much can't understand those who have a problem with it

I KNOW! I pretty much had a stand up argument with my Mam and sis because they both insisted that the writers had 'ruined a good show' with complicated/confusing plots *headdesk*

ETA: I now have a bunny (thanks in part to Ith) involving Madame Vastra, Jenny and Victorian Torchwood. Care to take it off my hands? Seems much more your cup of writing tea. *g*

I don't know about 'ruin' but I can see how some might be turned off by having to engage their brain while watching it! Having said that, I watched the last episode with an 11 year old, and he had zero issues following the plot!

But I love and adore it as it is. Don't ever change, show!

P.S. Victorian Torchwood and Madame Vastra sounds intriguing, although I'm not sure if any plot comes to mind!
