And that honour has to go to BtVS's Once More With Feeling! A lot of series have subsequently tried to pull off a musical episode, but none as successfully as Whedon. I'm not sure if it was five times for me, either, but this episode is definitely ahead of the pack (and I watched it again last night!)

I've never seen that episode uncut. I saw most of it when it first aired, and every airing I've seen since has it cut to fit in the time slot. I intended to skip it entirely when it aired, because I despise musicals.

But I switched over to the channel at some point, and loved it. Probably around 15 minutes in.

I have the DVD, so I don't have to worry about cut versions!

Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen that bit.

I bought season 6 at one point--one DVD was missing. Whichever one had the episode. I took it back and got another from the same store. Same DVD missing. I think a third had the same problem. I gave up at that point.

It was probably just that store, but it was annoying.
