Wrote a post in my head at school today about the Olympics, and the sportsmanship displayed there by certain individuals, and the lack thereof displayed by other individuals. But then I lost it, so lets have a quick Colbert moment, shall we?

Tip of the Hat: Joannie Rochette, for a wonderful and touching performance after her mother's sudden ( Read more... )

First of all: I hope Evan Lysacek will be at the Sochi games, and that he's only kidding when he says that he doesn't know if the Russians will let him into their country. That would be a crap move on Russia's part; we didn't exclude them from playing on our soil after the Cold War ended.

Secondly: That sucks that they pulled the rug out from under you like that. Did they really think that you'd work for free? It puts you in an awkward position saying yes or no. I hope you can work something out.

...I just got a message saying that the one person misunderstood something, but either the guy's English was wrong or something is really fucked up because last time they said daikyuu would continue until April, and now they're saying until March...

Which is a month LESS. >_<

But I haven't been to my school yet, so I have yet to speak with the English teacher and figure out what's actually going on. There will be updates on this soon.

I GOT MY PACKAGE!!! I should like to give you advice on selling - sell all theme extra cards on the community man!

I WANT TO SEE THIS HOCKEY GAME. ALL I SAW WAS THE HIGHLIGHT.

I am making an angry face at your BOE. Nice to see that even the JETs are starting to get shafted. A friend and I have come up with the theory that the Japanese just don't CARE anymore about learning English or anything. She's worked in the same town for a decade and it's changed so drastically over the years and its the same people in the same positions - it's the attitude.

But don't let them pull a fast one on you. Demand to be paid or don't go.

It's too much of a pain in the ass, what with having to do shipping and packaging and get to the post office (it closes at 4 and isn't open on weekends). And I HATE those people who rip off other fans by charging like $5 for a non-special card or like $50 for a plushie and that kind of shit. I once saw someone charging $50 for a Kaburaza dj that I have and I KNOW it doesn't cost that. What the hell are they trying to pull?! I mean, I bought all those packs to complete my set. I'd rather just include them as omake, which gets people to buy more doujinshi AND gets the damn things out of my house. XD THEY'RE ALMOST GONE -- WIN~!

(I do have two specials of France which I'll probably sell however.)

I didn't get to see more than the highlights of the game either. T_T

I sell my cards for a buck each, but shipping is about 3 bucks anywhere outside of Japan. =/ But hey, if you're almost out of them, then don't bother! I hate the high prices for plushies and doujinshi too. I know I can get them for a lot less here but I also can't say to a seller "you're overcharging" because maybe they had to pay 50 bucks to get that item and in the end don't really like it and are just trying to break even.

....BOO. JAPAN, LEARN TO LOVE HOCKEY PLEASE. YOU LOVE CURLING. NOW LOVE HOCKEY.

That really is shitty of them though! And it kind of pisses me off. Why spend so much money on outsourced or direct hired employees only to not really give a crap about the work they do?

I don't really sell for profit.... just generally try to break even. I know people who do and I don't mind that. It's the financial rape that goes on that I hate. Making a small profit selling things is fine; charging people three times what you got it for is abusive.

Curling = most ridiculous 'sport' ever. Sorry Scotland.

I know nothing about sport at all, so skipping straight to the other issue.

*HUGS* That can't possibly be legal, can it? Is there an ombudsman or someone you could take the matter to? I really hope there's just a giant misunderstanding here. They can't expect anyone to just work for free. You need to make a living too.
