Some Absinthe tastes more like licorice than others. I dislike the black jellybean flavour, so I steer clear of the Pernod Absinthe in particular. The Czech ones are less licorice-y from memory.
Um... The label on this one was a flying unicorn. ^.^ A friend of mine bought a couple of different bottles in Osaka and was generous enough to share them, so I don't know what the brands were.
But the more expensive one definitly tasted like licorice.
It was probably a French-style one, rather than an Bohemian-style one. I wen't and checked my fuzzy recollection, and yep, the Czech ones are definitely made with less fennel and anise.
I'm not familiar with the flying unicorn one! (I've drunk a lot of absinthe. Cranberry juice or pink grapefruit juice is my preferred mixer)

Tried 'Death in the Afternoon' (mixing it with champagne) but the consensus was that was gross. :P
