I don't read everything - or even anything in particular - daily. When I have inclination (anywhere from several times a day to every few days), I'll start browsing through my faves and see where my fancy takes me:

NYTimes (I broke down decided to pay.)

Guardian/UK
BBC News

ProPublica

Oregonian (local to me)
Seattle Post-Intelligencer (local-ish to me)

LATimes (only now and again unless I'm scheduled to head there in a bit, in which case I'll pay more attention so I'm at least somewhat aware of whassup locally there)

Radio Netherlands Worldwide

Salon.com

AlterNet

Slate.com

I am still usually a user of CNN (through laziness not love). When possible I set the international edition as my preference, that seem to turn some of dog and pony show off.

Not what you are looking for, but possibly a transitional step while you find something better. Please do report back, I'm not widely read enough to spot some of the subtler biases. I could probably spot they are a hate group by the message, but I sure didn't know about them by name.
