How do I say this without it coming out wrong (and sounding suicidal)

As a young person I see the appeal in dying young but that is because I am very sure and have the utmost confidence in God that if I were to die it would be for a very good reason.

That said when I get older I can't imagine saying I wish I had died young because I will still be doing what I am suposed to.

Make sense?

I have things to do before I die. Tell Gus if he's bored, he can call me and I'll give him a list.

(OK, yes, I understand the literary, romatic, hollywood appeal in dying young and never aging from your ideal. But there's that part that they say suicidal teens overlook: you're dead.)
