Check Dredg out, man! They're awesome, but no-one seems to listen to them. Also, if you haven't heard them already, Cursive.

Yeah, I'm not sure why, but they're not very well-known. They're awesome, though! It was Tellah_Sage who introduced me to them.

well yeah that "woo-hoo" song is getting kind of annoying. it's being overplayed. i'm looking for some more songs from their catalogue and seeing how much i will like them.

btw, have you heard any tracks off the new Mars Volta album yet? i'm searching for those as well.

Yeah. In fact, I have the new Mars Volta album! Er, I've only listened to it once, though. I should really do something to change that, but it's hard to find the time. One of the songs is about 30 minutes long, and spans 6 tracks! It's an unusual album. I'll stick it on tonight, anyway.
