Strangely, I don't feel anything when reading that the new single will be without Jin. I just have a hard time deciding which one to order... since this time there's no Kame solo, there's no obvious choice for me. O.o

I don't hate Jin, aren't even angry with him anymore, I do understand he wants to chase his dream. Fine, I'll buy that. But it's more ( Read more... )

Thanks, you too! The nails were painted by sis, as usual. XD

No, I haven't decided it... maybe I should just go for the cheapest. ^^;

"he's the only one that would stand a chance in America because the others' English sucks"

I have to disagree with this because right now, he is the only one who really stands a chance. If he wants to make it beyond a niche anime/jpop fandom crowd in the US, his English needs to be fluent. As he is now, I don't think he can make it. Because his English is still quite flawed. But out of the JE guys I'm familiar with, Jin is really the only one who could potentially make it here. He does have the best chance. If the rest of KAT-TUN study English and learn to speak/sing it fluently, they'll have a chance, too. (And I hope they do this. I want to see KAT-TUN in concert!!!)

Is it really so? You can't be popular unless you speak the language of the country?

Alright, well, I can't speak for others, but as for me, I like KAT-TUN because they're Japanese and sing in Japanese. If I wanted English songs, I would listen to others. Although you have a point there of course. But when I read that comment I just found it ridiculious that it has to depend on the level of the language they know and not what skill they have.

Jin and KAT-TUN could easily become popular within the small group of people who are already fans of Japanese pop culture. Miyavi and L'arc~en~Ciel are perfect examples of this. But at the same time, the average American (even in large cities) has never heard of Miyavi or L'arc~en~Ciel. If Jin/JE only wants that niche market of anime/j-pop fans, they could easily get it. If they want national recognition, it's not gonna happen unless their English is improved. Most Americans don't want to listen to foreign language music, sadly. And as a foreigner, Jin's English will be under even more scrutiny than a non-foreigner.

But again, if JE just wants to be popular with America's anime-fan crowd... I really don't know why they haven't done this sooner. KAT-TUN just needs to go to a few anime cons and they'll have a US market instantly (though a small one).

"Besides, I started liking KAT-TUN because I liked Kame, so to me, Kame is the important "pillar" for me to continue supporting KAT-TUN, Jin's not (even though he's a big part)."

Haven't dropped by in a while, but just wanted to say that I agree with you here. When I first heard of the news about the separate concerts I wasn't really happy either, but when I think about it Kame is the important one since he's my main favorite and the one who got me into KAT-TUN in the first place. So I'll still continue supporting them even if it's going to be a 5-man group for a while.

Looking back now, I feel so childish, throughing a tantrum like that. I feel embarrassed, hehe... Yes, I'm still not too happy, but I can live with the 5nin group. Deep down though (even when I'm saying the opposite), I'm wishing for Jin to come back and join them soon.
