It has always been blocked here in the States. I'm idly contemplating setting up a WebMail client to get around it but so far such Man-defying plans have come to naught.

Suspect the major players are the only ones blocked, but management have always had the facility to track web access

Use the old standby, the webmail WAP site. For Yahoo it's:

http://uk.rf.wap.yahoo.com/raw?dp=mail&src=mail1

Some sysadmins are too dim to block it. Some are bright enough to realise that the WAP mail sites don't transfer files, and therefore don't block them.
