God this sounds like some contest to win your friendship or something
Kinokuniya has some Halloween stuff now. I haven't looked at all the Halloween books we have in our collection at school, but my kids go nuts for "Go Away Big Green Monster!" It has layered pages that add on, and then remove, "big yellow eyes" and "big white teeth" and stuff like that (I change some of the words like "scraggly purple hair" to "crazy purple hair" so the kids understand everything.)
Er, oh, I can see how the wording might play out like that, but I just meant to say that I only want to buy one book, instead of buying different ones for each grade. It can get expensive is all.
It sure can. I bought two paperbacks today for Y3000 ;_; What other kind of Halloween activities are you planning to do? My school does a haunted house, costume party, pumpkin carving and a pinata every year :3 :3 Man I am so stoked about wearing a costume to school again.
Ah, that sounds fun. But I have five elementary schools in a poor fishing town. (On a related note, I'll have to order from the internet since the nearest Kinokuniya is four hours away.)
So, my schools can't really do that. Aside from story time, I plan on doing one of those Halloween guessing games. Kids stick their hands in a box that says, "eyeballs," but really it's just peeled grapes, etc.
I brought a book that I had as a kid called Popcorn. It's not really about monsters. All the characters in the book are bears and they all have Halloween costumes on. The main character's parents go to a party and while they're gone the kid decides to invite his friends over and asks them to bring something good to eat. All his friends bring popcorn so he makes it but there's so much it fills the whole house. Then they have to eat it up so his parents won't know about his party. They all eat so much they hate popcorn and leave. The kid goes to bed and his parents come back and say "hey we brought you something.... popcorn!" So anyway if that sounds like an ok book to you, you can try looking for it on Amazon or something. I don't know if it's still available but the plot & words are easy and it has big pictures.
It's from a little halloween song (kinda like itsy bitsy spider), with hand signs and everything. It's for like Kindergarten - 1st grade. Easy plot and words. The book is a smaller book, but the pictures are simple and take up the entire page. I think the book is like $3-4.

But I loved that book about the skeletons in the dark, dark house. They had a skeleton dog.
