I sort of asked this question before, but I'd lke to clarify it this time. Where does everyone buy their books? I hear a lot of people do price comparisons between Amazon.com and Amazon.jp, but does anyone use anything else? My local library doesn't really have an English selection and it would cost me more to get into town than it would to pay ( Read more... )

Random question (I know, I ask a lot of questions), but I heard that anything found on Amazon.com can also be ordered via Amazon.jp. I was just wondering if this is true, or if I'll have to stock up on my favorite DVD boxsets and bring them with me. Can anyone recommend a good Japanese langauge textbook for self study? I'm currently taking an intro class using the Yookoso! book by Tohsaku, which leaves a lot to be desired. I know kana/hiragana and will study Kanji using Remember the Kanji by Heisig. I just need a book for everything else. Thanks!

I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can get a copy of "Being a Broad in Japan."
( Amazon.com doesn't have it - says it's out of print, "limited availiblity"- and that they don't have it.)

I'm looking for a library in the Osaka-Kobe-Kyoto area that both has a wide selection of English books available and offers membership to foreigners. Does such a place exist?

Buying the books I want to read is becoming an expensive habit.
