but I digress...

I've been thinking (seriously, don't die of shock) lately about the whole immigration controversy. First of all, no matter what side of the fence you are standing on (pun intended) I don't think that hateful remarks are necessary. The next time I hear someone say, well go back to your own country, this is America! I'll probably go all Tom Cruise ( Read more... )

was america found by a spanish person? if that's right, it should be a spanish speaking land! yay!

i like to think about stuff like that, i mean if napoleon had beaten nelson at trafalgar, the french would have ruled the british empire and i would now be speaking french to you! amazing!

the native americans should kick everyone else out!

save the beavers!

uh oh! i possibly shouldn't comment when i have no idea what you're talking about but i can't resist commenting all over your journal!

I wouldn't have you any other way Ruby♥ and I LOVE random comments! :)

America was discovered by several people, depending on who you're talking about and where in the country you are. Actual Native Americans (the true founders obviously) aside, I think it was the Vikings who originally stumbled across it. The Spanish had a claim on the southwestern area and Mexico. The French has the southeast I think and then England had the east coast. Hah, maybe we should speak all those languages! I kind of wish that the Vikings had stayed and they'd we all speak Norwegian and be really tall and blonde. ;P

I agree, it has to be really hard although they chose to do it in the first place. I'm not saying that they don't have their reasons and that they shouldn't. I just think that Mexico is not necessarily a country that people should be fleeing from. It has it's bad points but it's definitely not war torn or completely poverty stricken. I do feel bad for them and I agree with billfromtexas too, I don't know, I guess I just like to explore all angles. :)
