For your amusement, a craft-centered pictorial narrative!

All of that thesis progress last week, and here I am now, posting silly pictures. Oh, well; there is a story that goes with these!

My bed:

Harriet is sad because my bed has only this one comforter to wear. How Harriet wishes she had others to shed upon.

But lo! What is this Christmas present from my mother-in-law?

A new quilt! Hooray! I'm so pleased, and so is Harriet!

Trouble is afoot, however.

This quilt is for a king sized bed! And I have but a double!

But what if something could be done to make this item useful? I know just the thing! I'll take out all the stuffing and make it into a duvet cover for the coverless duvet I have and hesitate to use!

Harriet is skeptical.

I stretch the quilt over the bed to see how much to take off the sides.

Looks like it isn't really too big after all. How convenient!

Closer inspection reveals that the quilt is actually a blanket in a quilt-like print. Hmm. Here's a close-up. Those diamond-shaped seams have GOT to go! They are what stand in the way of my removing the stuffing and turning this puppy into a big envelope!

I will attack my foes with yon seam-ripper.

Did you notice that this blanket is kind of big? There are lots of diamonds to rip. This is going to take hours.

And hours.

And hours.

Must not quit! If I quit now, all I have is a ruined blanket and a still-sad double bed and a naked duvet!

To be continued.

Okay, that was a little anti-climactic.
