I really love Justice League. Honestly, my favourite bit by far is when Superman confronts Wonder Woman about letting all those women out of their cages and allowing them to do dispicable things to the men who had held them captive and raped them.
I thought that was very adult too. It really humanized Wonder Woman to me because we don't really ever see her struggle with her beliefs and what she has learned about the outside world. To her, she was giving justice. To Superman, she was out of control.
Plus, I've never really seen rape dealt with in the JLA or the idea that the JLA formed during the McCarthy Era.
I really loved this. I loved how it took a look at superheroes in historical context, a little bit like Watchmen. I just wish it had been a bit longer.
But, yeah, basically anything in the DC Animated Universe is worth giving a try.
