Some People Make Me Sick

Jun 22, 2011 16:37

Today I came across the video below. Watch it and be appalled at the depravity of some people. Bam Margera visits the crash site where his best friend and Jackass co star Ryan Dunn was killed in a car crash.
Roger Ebert's tweet, mentioned in the video, has caused outrage, but not so much as what so called 'fans' and visitors to the crash site have ( Read more... )

fans, ryan dunn, disgrace

I's sorry, but I don't see the point in these remarks. I know you're disgusted, but it just ends up sounding very polically correct - when you have linked to a video which turns pain into a spectacle, essentially making a profit out of it just like the people selling the pieces of the site, only this time the profit is in terms of youtube clicks instead of money.
Bam Margera is visiting the site and crying - what is the point of filming it? It was a private and terribly sad moment, I really don't understand this camera pointed right up his nose to film every sigle second of it, for people to watch at home.
I thought this was a piece of news, not just a detailed, zoomed in video of his grief.
What is the point in complaining about people scavenging on Ebay, when they do so right in front of our nose and put it on the internet for people to link at and share on Twitter and Facebook?

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I appreciate you sharing yours. All I can say is that the news outlets, especially in this case, do not know where their boundaries are, nor do those people who think it alright to sell pieces of the final moments of someone's life and profit from it ( ... )

It's shocking isnt it? I was linked to this video by a friend on twitter and needless to say, the upset and anger spread like wildfire.
It's bad enough that a news crew were there to film Bam's visit to such a tragic scene but to think that people may even profit from someone's death is beyond me.. eugh.

Arrgh, I wished that news crew to hell, this moment.
What did they do there...I know what they did, but I meant they didn't belong there in such a intimate saying goodbye moment.
I had tears in my eyes, felt so much pity with Bam and his company, whwerever they were.
Humans are the cruelest beasts! Animals following their instincts, but humans are greedily, calculating, nasty!!!
Hope ebay will discover them and gonna inform the police! As you said earlier!

Rude people!

hugs,
C

You can add "journalist asking 'How are you gonna get through this' just to make Margera cry even more while keeping him on the microphone to the disgusting list.
Though I really don't understand why he wouldn't even accept to being interviewed right in that moment?? I am going to think he was so upset he couldn't reason properly and understand that that press was there to scavenge, too, because otherwise it doesn't make any sense.

I, as a journalist, would have taken away that microphone and camera after the first second out of pity if nothing else. Tough I think I wouldn't even have been there in the first place. Bleh.

Poor Bam... :'( I can't imagine the pain he's going through...seeing him talk about Ryan just brought tears to my eyes. And the nerve of people stealing from the crash site!! People have no morals or decency!! Such a shame.
Ryan will definitely be missed.

It will be interesting to see if the law and ebay have the deceny to find the people selling the parts and do what's right, not just for the law put for the people hurting like Bam and his friends :-(

Wow, some people are really sick :-(

On the other side I feel sorry for Bam that people film him while he is crying for his dead friend. They should have just left him alone there.

What makes me so sick about the media is that they wouldn't do this kind of stuff if it wasn't big business. If everyone wasn't so obsessed by celebrity then they wouldn't do that. The paparazzi wouldn't exist if people didn't make such a big deal out of famous people.
