Just an excerpt from an Elseworlds story I've had bouncing in my for a couple of years, set during WWII, as an answer to a really terribly racist Batman serial that Columbia Pictures released in 1943.
I saw it first in college, in an afternoon film festival set up like a typical 40's era movie matinee. Everyone started booing when the narrator mentioned clearing out the Japanese as a positive move, and the audience opinion of the whole thing went down from there.
